BrassPause is an offline iPhone app. This page describes what it keeps on your device, what can leave it, and what this website records. Last updated 4 September 2026.

What the app keeps on your iPhone

Three files, in the app's own folder on the device:

• Your finished sessions: the date, any label you typed, your played and rested totals, and each passage with its multiplier, its target and the rest you actually took.
• The session in progress, so locking the phone or reopening the app does not lose it.
• Your settings: the multiplier, and whether the in-app sound and haptic cue, the rest notification and keep-the-screen-awake are on.

That is all it writes. There is no account, no profile, no contact information, no location, no device identifier and no advertising identifier, because the app never asks for any of them.

What the app does not do

BrassPause has no networking code: it does not send your sessions, your labels or anything else to Coded Realities or to anyone else, and there is no server copy of your practice. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting service, no advertising and no tracking, and its App Store privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking.

It has no microphone use anywhere. It cannot record or listen to your playing. You start and stop the timer by tapping.

Copies you make, and device backups

You can share a plain-text summary of a session through the normal iOS share sheet. Where it goes is your choice, and once it is in a mail app, a notes app or a cloud drive, that service's own privacy practices apply, not ours.

The app's folder is included in iOS device and iCloud backups of your iPhone, which is how a restored phone gets your sessions back. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we have no access to them. Deleting BrassPause removes its data from the device.

Notifications

The optional notification at a rest target is a local notification scheduled on your device. Nothing about it is sent to a server, and there is no push service involved. iOS asks for notification permission only when you switch the setting on, and the app does not schedule anything if you decline.

This website

These pages are static files with no scripts, no cookies, no analytics, no embeds and no web fonts, so nothing on them reports your visit to a third party. Cloudflare is the hosting provider and necessarily processes the request, including your IP address, in order to serve the page; that is Cloudflare's processing under its own terms, and we do not add a tracker of our own on top of it.

If a future version of the app changes what it stores or what leaves the device, this page will be updated and the date above will change. BrassPause collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.
